NC Proofboard and Machineable Plastic
Goldenwest Mfg. Inc. offers a variety of materials for proofing NC programs, making prototypes, models, and cast reproductions.

Their NC PROOFBOARD® is a rigid urethane foam board available in 6, 10, 15, 18, and 22 lb. densities. It is non-abrasive and easy to shape or machine with hand power tools to make patterns, models, signs, and original sculptures. It is ideal for testing NC programs. Stock sizes are: 4’ x 4’ or 4’ x 8’ in thickness’ from 1/2" to 14".

Their machineable plastic BUTTER-BOARD® can be custom made to shape and size requirements. The rigid cast plastic shapes are available in rectangles, cylinders, cubes, donuts, and basic geometric shapes and stock sizes. They are cast using various fillers with R1 FAST CAST® and machine with hand power tools and finish with fine sandpaper to make patterns, tooling, sculptures and prototypes from 48 to 110 lbs. per cu. ft.

Offered in four formulations, the R1/BB BUTTER-BOARD is non-abrasive, the Rl/M15.2 is general purpose, the R1/HG3000 is a tooling grade, and the R1/PI Easy Green is non-abrasive.

Additionally, with their RTV silicone rubber, a fabricator can make a rubber mold off of the BUTTER-B0ARD that they carved and then with R1 FAST CAST (a two part liquid casting resin) make as many cast reproductions as they need.
