Pattern Maker Software

Maxym Technologies’ Pattern Maker for Windows has matured from its DOS version into a powerful integrated environment for CNC machining and graphical design. More than ten years of real world experience and customer feedback have guided it into easy to use CAD/CAM software. While it presents itself as simple illustration software, it possesses powerful CAM abilities such as line direction and sequencing. Now, instead of painstakingly editing G-Code as text, without any visual confirmations, Pattern Maker enables the user to modify and edit objects, cuts or line properties interactively with a combination of mouse and keyboard actions.

When creating designs with CAM software it’s important to have accuracy and keep proper track of your position. Adjustable grids and rulers allow the user to easily track their position, and when they combine that with easy to access number entry boxes, accurate positioning and tracking is no longer a problem. Just tab or click in the number entry boxes and type the desired dimensions in terms of length, angle, absolute position, or relative position to let Pattern Maker find and place you where you want to be. Simple locking feature will hold your mouse cursor in place to keep you from accidentally moving and different snaps will ensure that points are properly connected. The software will generate smooth curves and circles to prevent jagged edges.

The drawing tools have many different options and are easily customized. Users have fine tuned control over curved objects by enabling them to oversee how the program simulates curves in a couple of different ways. Pattern Maker also supports both G-Code inputs and outputs, which handle features ranging from a simple line speed change to 3D line specifications. Pattern Maker lets you delete or move points easily as it does all the work to keep your vectors organized, properly sequenced and well managed for CNC output. Point to point access of line properties along with sequencing functions allow users a chance to organize or modify how the program deals with what you’ve created. This gives users direct control of the inner workings of how each and every line is dealt with by the program. Connecting or disconnecting objects and lines requires no more than a click of the mouse.

Pattern Maker has new tool compensation features such as pocketing in multiple modes. Operators need only to setup up a few parameters and let the computer do all the work. Pattern Maker now also delineates the actual drawing from its machining output. This means that drawings remain intact after compensations are calculated and lines are shifted, leaving you with the ability to save the original for future use or create other compensated outputs with different parameters or in different formats.

Machine control software for MAXYM CNC products is also included as a self-contained program to make this package complete. Built in line type and I/O configurations simplify your work while allowing control over the way that machines interpret your designs. Line type specifications make drawings even more flexible by allowing functions like movement in all 3 axis’s. The Machine Controller software is free to run on it’s own without Pattern Maker or from inside the Pattern Maker environment. This allows you to step up and run your Maxym CNC without the clutter of drawing tools when they are unnecessary.
