PC/ABS Resin Blends with FR Properties

Premier Material Concepts (PMC) introduces new resin blends of Polycarbonate/acrylonitrilebutadiene-styrene (PC/ABS) to its line of ABS products to meet strict thermoforming requirements. PC/ABS material has high impact strength and heat resistance, as well as enhanced chemical resistance to many strong disinfectants and cleaners. It yields superior thermoforming results for applications such as channels, ducts, conduit systems, cover panels for large equipment and more. Plus, PC/ABS is specially formulated with silicone copolymers to ensure direct and indirect UV radiation weatherability.

PMC also offers a flame retardant (FR) PC/ABS blend, which resists flames even at thin gauges through a nonhalogenated technology, free of brominated or chlorinated additives. Featuring lower smoke toxicity and higher smoke corrosion resistance than PVC, FR PC/ABS will ensure heightened safety for public buildings and reduced damage to electronic equipment. It is also safe for use in healthcare facilities because of its non-toxic, biocompatible properties and conformance to Restrictions of Hazardous Substances (RoHs) and Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) regulations.

The new resins are available in a wide variety of low-surface gloss and non-fade colors.
