Dog-Dangling Afternoon

Those of you who watch ÒThe SimpsonsÕÓ may remember the episode where Homer was so bored he was dangling his dog. Well the bored part is foreign to me but the dog-dangling is not. Our family adopted a puppy two weeks ago and she dangles real well, for now anyway - sheÕll be 70 pounds eventually. Halle is a ten week old flat-coated retriever and, in spite of the house breaking, is the highlight of our summer. While the economy continues to try and get its legs underneath it, we all need to keep our sights set on working our way out of this downturn. We continue to hear reports from many manufacturers and suppliers that the economy shows signs of picking up toward the end of this year.

This issue is packed with ideas and products to help your company work their way out. From safe, reliable, industrial Flame Polishing with H2O Gas and increased productivity with CNC routers to The Secret to Increased Sales and our 2009 BuyerÕs Guide, there are dozens of ways you can create opportunities for your business.

We kick off with Flame Polishing with H2O Gas. This ultimate green machine allows you to convert water to H2O gas providing significant improvements in safety and ecology, and it is economical with a cost of operation nearly 80% less than traditional bottled gases.

Next read how Progressive Interiors dramatically increased manufacturing capacity, reduced costs and shortened lead times since installing their new CNC router.

This issue also features our 12th annual BuyerÕs Guide. It offers a collective resource of our advertisersÕ products and services this past year. It is divided into ten categories with an alphabetical listing and description of manufacturers, distributors, suppliers and services for all facets of the plastic shapes industry.

Finally in Safety Solutions, Jack Podijil discusses the topic of Accident Prevention & Investigation. What would you do if someone came to you and said, ÒWe just had an accident?Ó

So take time now to dangle a dog, lounge in your hammock and read how you can work your way out. We know you will find ideas inside this issue to help your company come survive this latest economic downturn.
