12-Position Tool Changer

MultiCam L.P. is now offering a newly designed automated Rotary Tool Changer on their MultiCam 5000 series CNC Router. The reengineered tool changer will now hold 12 tools, up from eight, is aggregate tool ready and able to easily integrate with a C-Axis. MultiCam’s new 12-Position Tool Changer also has newly configured, more sturdy fingers designed for heavier HSK63F tool holders and aggregate units.

Plate Frame Design

MultiCam also introduced an all Plate Steel Frame base for their 3000 and 5000 series Routers and Plasmas. MultiCam’s new plate steel box frames are designed to improve rigidity and have the strength and stability to assure years of dependable performance. The main stringers on these frames are fabricated from 1.5- inch thick plate. This has improved their ability to machine the base and reduced vibration during heavy cuts on the router. The rib design offers 20% more support for the standard phenolic vacuum or optional T plate clamping tables. Machined mounts for optional pop up pins to align material blanks are now standard. All base frame designs have extra available stroke in the X-axis to accommodate full coverage of optional boring units. Heavy-duty forklift tubes are standard. Work surface height is maintained at 32 inches, which is an optimal ergonomic level.

MultiCam also introduced their latest innovation, an all cast-aluminum carriage for the Z-Axis. Designed specifically for the MultiCam 5000 Series CNC Router, the new cast carriage was created in Solid Works and fully analyzed to FEA Standards (Finite Element Analysis) to ensure optimum stability. The cast aluminum carriage is four times more rigid, will eliminate flexing and absorb vibration. The new carriage allows the 5000 Series to produce smoother more accurate cuts with heavier tooling.
