IPFA Corner
The events of September 11, 2001 will not soon be forgotten. Terrorists have not only taken thousands of lives; they have created a great degree of uncertainty in an already slow economy. As business people we have to find ways to survive.

History has proven that the economy does rebound after such historic events. The question on most business owners' minds is how to navigate the storm. No one can predict what the rippling impact on world markets will be or just how long and how low we may go. As plastics fabricators we must unite to further our industry, ultimately fighting back against the terrorist attacks.

With extremely competitive pricing continuing to be a major issue today, the slow downs we had seen in the semiconductor and automotive industries will only be compounded by aerospace cutbacks. Reduced spending and lower consumer confidence will directly impact P.O.P., and a host of other industries. It is up to you to take action to protect and build your business – the IPFA can help.

Our Association was founded exclusively to help fabricators further their businesses. One of our primary goals is to help you market yourself to potential customers. As we continue to develop programs and increase our list of services, we look to you for feedback on the things you require most from your Association. From discounts on legal and accounting services to a discounted freight program, and health insurance programs, our goal is to provide you with the tools you need to succeed as fabricators, and as businesses, in today's competitive climate. By joining together as an industry, we can leverage our common interests and reduce our costs - helping each of us to be more efficient and profitable.

In order to help you be more competitive and save money, Edge Finisher Co., a Founding Member of the IPFA, offers Members a 10% discount on all new equipment and new tooling purchases. As a manufacturer and supplier of edge finishing, edge polishing, and flame polishing equipment, and linear heat tables, their products offer fabricators the opportunity to increase part quality and shop productivity. The discount you can earn as a member of the IPFA will more than cover the cost of joining our growing association. For additional information on the discount, contact Darrell Bishop, Edge Finisher Co. at 800-625-5863.

The IPFA was founded to provide our industry with a common voice. As plastics fabricators, we compete and source materials across town and around the world. We can all use a little help running our businesses better, purchasing products and services at competitive rates, and keeping current on the latest techniques in fabrication and developments in machinery and tooling for our industry. Add to that the ability of the Association to help you win more business, and the mix can not be beat. But to benefit, you have to get involved. Call the IPFA today at 630-980-4740 to learn more about what the IPFA has to offer you.
