No-Melt Saw Blades

Forrest Manufacturing Company, Inc. offers a line of No-Melt carbide-tipped saw blades especially designed for cutting single or multiple stacked sheets of plastic without chipping or melting. The No-Melt is particularly suitable for acrylics, delrins, ABS (Cycolac), styrenes, PVC, and both high and low melt nylons. It can be used on table saws, radial arm saws, chop saws, and most panel saws.

Specially engineered side clearances on the carbide teeth significantly reduce, and in many cases, totally eliminate any formation of melted burrs or buildup of residue on cross-sawn sections of plastic materials. Double-hard, 40% stronger C4 Carbide is used and yields 50% to 300% longer life between sharpenings, offering reduced yearly sharpening costs, less machine downtime, improved labor efficiency, and requires you to have fewer blades. The large number of carbide teeth with a special modified triple-chip-grind (#11 tooth style) allows fast feeding of brittle acrylics with no chipping.

Also offered are the Duraline Thin-Rims Plastikerf Saws, specially tipped with extra durable, super abrasive-resistant C4 Micrograin Carbide. The Forrest Duraline Thin-Rim is the ideal blade for cutting fine, fragile and/or thin-walled material such as 1/32" to 1/4" acrylic sheets, engraving stock, and plastic extrusions. It eliminates chipping, minimizes tooth impact, and greatly reduces material waste.

In addition, Forrest makes blades for mechanicals: PVC, phenolic, polypropylene, and nylon. For special applications, custom blades will be supplied. For G-10 (phenolic/fiberglass), diamond grit blades will be made.

In addition to blades, they offer Saw Stiffeners to dampen noise and vibration for a quieter cut. A single Forrest Dampener - Stiffener is highly recommended for all applications. They are made of top quality saw steel, hardened and precision parallel ground to within .001" of side runout.

In business for over 55 years, Forrest still hand straightens the steel plates for new blades to very tight tolerances. They also offer state-of-the-art saw blade sharpening on all brands of carbide tipped saw blades, router bits, and shaper cutters.
