THE NEED FOR SPEED

New rapid positioning rates and high-speed options on the Accu-Router High Velocity Series III-C can improve machine output by as much as 50%. More speed equals more productivity and a faster payback for fabricators interested in increasing their bottom line.

Accu-Router, Inc. has raised the rapid positioning feedrate on their Series III-C to 4,000 ipm on the X and Y axes with speeds as fast as '/4 second ACC and DEC. This is incredibly fast particularly when packaged with several high-speed machining options, including automatic cornering ACC/DEC software, and an XR-30 rpm spindle.

They engineered in 4,000 ipm motion through the use of custom, precision grounded ball screw technology. Large diameter precision ground ball screws are on both the X and Y axes with automatic oil injection for lubrication. These ball screws incorporate precision oversized ball nuts with hand-fitted balls. Accu-Router spins the ball nuts, not the screws. The result is industry-leading speed, amazingly quiet operation, and efficient energy use.

Axis motion at this speed will reduce CNC program cycle times an average of 30-40%. Machine output per hour directly relates to product cost. Dramatic improvements in machine cycle times will lead to dramatic cost savings and higher productivity.

Three additional high-speed options are integrated to the G.E. Fanuc model 18i MA CNC control used by Accu-Router:

  • High-speed cornering features a compression of time required for an axis corner move. As the machining feedrate increases, the cornering rate increases.

  • An ultra-high response servo motor option is also available. This will produce faster program cycle times. All change of directions within a program will be faster.

  • The most recent high-speed advance is automatic cornering ACC/DEC software. This software when activated in a CNC program will automatically dictate the fastest feedrate possible for a machine to turn a comer or make a straight-line move.
