Eastman Chemical Company will promote the ease of thermoforming and fabrication of its Shi Bei Da copolyester to change the mindset of China's "flat" signage industry - the fastest growing sign market in the Asia Pacific region.

Eastman launched She Bei Da copolyester, a proprietary second-generation glycol-modified copolyester (PETG) trademarked as Spectar copolyester in the USA, in 1994, in response to demand for a higher-clarity resin to be used in a host of varied and rapidly growing applications from bus shelters to indoor and outdoor signs to protective taxicab shields.
