KYDEX in Vietnam

KYDEX, LLC, the U.S.-based manufacturer of KYDEX® thermoplastic sheet, announced that Aerospace Engineering Services Company (AESC) has become the first privately owned company in Vietnam to receive VAR 145 Maintenance Organization certification, effectively expanding the potential market for KYDEX sheet products in the region.

Based in Hanoi, AESC is a joint stock company that provides aviation component maintenance, repair and engineering services to domestic and foreign operators of transport category aircraft.

The VAR 145 certification awarded by the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV) allows AESC to manufacture parts certified for use in aircraft interior components within the country. Therefore, aircraft companies in Vietnam can utilize parts made by AESC, which uses industry-compliant KYDEX sheet.

This certification is the first step for AESC in eventually achieving Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) and Part 145 Repair Station certification from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, with the goal of producing and selling parts for aircraft that are used and flown globally.

Proprietary KYDEX thermoplastic sheet is available in a choice of aviation grades that are specifically formulated for creating two- and three-dimensional aircraft interior components that require properties such as fire retardance, chemical resistance, excellent formability and high impact resistance.
