Acrylic Sheets Specifier

Acrilex, Inc., producers and distributors of high-end, custom-colored acrylic sheets, announces the availability of their Acriglas® Acrylic Sheets Specifier Sample Case. This attractive and powerful presentation tool, conveniently houses and displays approximately 120 sample squares of Acrilex’s most popular acrylic sheets. The Acriglas Sample Case is available to qualified designers and specifiers who purchase or specify acrylic sheets in the architecture or commercial building and design industries.

Unlike the previous color binder which had samples permanently attached to a page, this sample case affords designers the opportunity to see and feel the complete range of Acriglas solutions, as well as hold samples up to light sources to determine aesthetics and light transmission. Also, unlike keychain samples, the new box neatly stores the product and can be placed vertically on a bookshelf like a binder for future reference.

Included in the case are Acriglas series such as: metallic, frosted, neon lights, impressions textures, pearlescent, glitter, fluorescent/edge colors, granite and natural mica, marble and newly introduced products.

Acriglas acrylic sheets are ideal for point-of-purchase displays, lighting, store fixtures, signs and furniture applications that require complex formed or fabricated shapes. The sheets are also ideal for providing material with superior impact resistance to glass. Acriglas sheets are available in a variety of sizes, and thicknesses ranging from 1/8”-1/2”.

For additional information, contact Dan Rustin, Acrilex, Inc., 230 Culver Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07305, 800-222-4680, Fax: 201-333-1237, E-mail: drustin@acrilex.com, Web: www.acrilex.com.

Polishing & Bending

Edge Finisher Company manufactures and supplies a wide range of edge polishing and sheet bending equipment for plastics fabrication.

Their EF200 Diamond Edge Polisher Machine removes saw marks and produces a clear, polished edge on acrylic parts up to 3/4” thick in a single pass through the machine. Their EF2000 model is capable of polishing up to 2” thick. Both machines accommodate either single sheet or stacked material.

They also represent the Shannon line of plastic bending machines. The HRK125 Linear Heat Table is a compact, easy to operate, semiautomatic machine for making multiple bends in acrylic, styrene, polycarbonate, foamed PVC and PET sheet materials. It has six nichrome wire heating elements with four separate temperature controls that can be positioned over and under the plastic sheets. The wire temperature and heating cycle time can be precisely controlled and the top heating elements automatically lift up away from the workpiece when the cycle time is complete.

EFC provides sales, tooling, resharpening and technical service in the US and Canada.

Acrylic Cements

WELD-ON® Assembly Adhesives has long been the industry standard for bonding acrylics by creating strong and attractive bonds since 1954. WELD-ON #3 and #4 use capillary action to penetrate the joint resulting in a strong solvent weld. WELD-ON #16 is a thickened version of #3 and #4 for application requiring gap filling. WELD-ON #40 and #42 are specifically designed to create strong and bubble free joints when bonding thicker acrylics or high quality museum cases.

In addition to this proven line of acrylic solvent cements, WELD-ON® – by IPS® Corporation – offers a full line of assembly adhesives for bonding all types of plastic and metal substrates.
