PLASTICS PIPE STATISTICS
Shipments of polyethylene pipe, tube and conduit totaled 1.1 billion pounds in 1998, a 12% increase from the 1997 rate of 977 million pounds, according to the 1998 Statistical Review released by the Plastics Pipe Institute, Inc.
The report provides an estimate in pounds of the volume of pipe, tubing and conduit shipped to five market segments, including water, gas distribution, oil/gas production, industrial sewers, and export/other markets. Data is also provided on shipments of polyethylene pipe, tube and conduit from 1996-1998, as well as on total market volumes from 1982-1998. The average safety incident rate calculation per 200,000 man hours is also provided.
