MECHANICAL DRIVE COMPONENTS
Stock Drive Products/Sterling Instrument has announced that it is making it possible for designers and engineers to download complete drawings and specifications of the company's mechanical drive components directly into CAD drawings, helping save design time and reduce the chance of human error. The CD-Rom, identified as the "Designer Companion, D700" includes CAD drawings for over 45,600 SDP/SI components. The drawings are in both DWG and DXF format and due to multiple views the total number of drawings on the CD exceeds 90,000. These drawings include useful attribute data (e.g., part number, company name) which is embedded in the drawing and can be used for generating bills of materials. The drawing types include: gears, belt and chain drives, shafts, shaft accessories, bearings, couplings, universal joints, unique components, gearheads and speed reducers, right angle drives, brakes and clutches, motors and gearmotors.
