LATE BREAKING NEWS

Plaskolite's Expanded Mirror Operation
Plaskolite, Inc. opened a 160,000 sq. ft. manufacturing/distribution facility in Zanesville, OH August of 2000. This expansion allowed them to increase stock levels of Fabback® acrylic mirror, which significantly reduced product delivery times. Additional facilities include Compton, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Ontario, Canada and Doesburg, Holland.

Plaskolite, Inc. began producing Fabback extruded acrylic mirror sheet in 1994 with the purchase of Mir-Acryl Co. of Bellville, MI. Since this purchase, Plaskolite has continually strived to produce superior quality acrylic mirror sheet by investing in state-of-the- art manufacturing technology. They are the only acrylic sheet manufacturer in the world that can control the quality of their acrylic mirror by utilizing a fully integrated manufacturing process.

Plaskolite manufactures PMMA acrylic resin, which is extruded into Optix® acrylic sheet. This process meets ISO-9002 specifications ensuring superior quality. Once the acrylic passes a series of quality assurance checkpoints, mirrorizing begins by aluminum vacuum metallization. Only the purest and finest aluminum is used for this process to ensure an excellent reflective surface.

Plaskolite has formulated on of the industry's toughest back coating, which is applied to protect the finished acrylic mirror sheet from scratching during fabrication. This back coating will protect the acrylic mirror even when exposed to the most vigorous fabrication processes. It is so durable, it has eliminated the need for protective paper masking on the paint side. Steps have been taken to ensure that only environment friendly, non-solvent additives are used in the production of this back coating.

Fabback acrylic mirror sheet is available in clear and 17 colors with custom color matching available. Additional products include polycarbonate mirror, PETG mirror, first surface mirror, marine grade mirror and see-through mirror. A scratch resistant coating is available on all mirror and non-mirror products for demanding applications. Plaskolite's Run-to-Size program meets their customers various needs by offering sheet sizes per each application specification, offering an alternative to the industry's standard 4' x 8' sheet.
