Static Dissipative Laminates
Micarta® has introduced StatNot™ static dissipative laminates. With its unique, proprietary high-temperature glass epoxy formulation, StatNot is the ideal high-performance composite to protect sensitive electronic components applications from ESD damage.

The laminates are ideally suited for assembly, testing and manufacturing work surfaces or for any other application where highly effective electrostatic dissipative protection is needed. In addition to work surfaces, these laminates can be utilized in assembly fixtures, solder pallets, carrier pallets, enclosures, and automated test equipment.

The product incorporates a newly formulated high-strength conductive material, compounded as an integral part of the epoxy resin and impregnated into a woven glass substrate. Substrate configurations include one-surface, two-surface, and StatNot-throughout constructions which deliver the high strength, dimensional stability, and chemical and thermal resistance of epoxy glass, and achieve continuous operating performances as high as 360°F (180°C). The ESD-resistant surface will not rub off, wear, or diminish over time.

Compared to conventional thermoplastics, this material exhibits excellent dimensional stability, along with having five times the stiffness of alternative materials. Compared to coatings, the product provides a uniform thickness of ESD protection across the entire material surface. In addition, the surface does not crack or chip.

Proper grounding and system design are required to effectively utilize the static dissipative properties of the product. The material is available in a variety of thicknesses in standard sheet sizes of 4' x 8' and 4' x 9', with other sheet sizes available on request.
